In one surprising turn of events in Washington, Senate Republicans filibustered legislation to treat first responders and emergency workers who suffered illnesses caused by 9/11. The bill would provide health care funding to treat first responders, cleanup crews, construction workers and residents who inhaled toxic particles after the collapse of the towers. Online prescriptions would have been covered under the bill.
This bill would have meant a lot of things to needy people who showed tremendous courage in the face of danger, they answered the call when no one else would and this is how our government treats them? It’s a sad day to be an American, especially considering these are some of the finest Americans that are being treated like this.
The International Association of Firefighters, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, the National Association of Police Organizations, online doctors and online prescription services, among other associations, supported the legislation.
Senators made cries seeking support of the bill, one Senator Charles Schumer said, “This vote is about being an American, because from the days at Bunker Hill, when the patriots put down their plows and took up muskets to defend and create our freedom, we always try to take care of them,” Schumer said. “The heroes of 9/11 are no different.” Some of the firefighters that were involved are all ready showing signs of cancers. Hopefully online prescription services and doctors online can treat these brave firefighters.
It also appears as if the Republicans were holding up voting on any legislation until the Bush era tax cuts were put into effect. They met with success and got their tax cuts but at what costs to these men and women? Others that were involved know that it’s just a matter of time until they come down with the same type of diseases that are extremely expensive to fight. Doctors online can help with some conditions but for more serious treatment these firefighters will have to have treatment for years.
It was definitely a strange day when Jon Stewart, noted comedian and talk show host drummed up support in favor of the 9/11 first responders. Stewart laid into Republicans saying he would like to see any of these Senators have the nerve to explain why tax cuts for the wealthy are more important than suffering 9/11 first responders.
The whole thing is a sordid mess and online doctors cannot do anything but sit and hope with the rest of us that this bill passes and our brave men and women who rushed to Ground Zero can have the medical treatment they deserve. Nothing is worse than for these brave people to not get the online prescriptions or be able to afford a doctor visit, let’s just hope that this bill passes. Doctors online are supporting this bill so let’s make it happen.
