Study Shows: Men With Insomnia Have a Higher Chance of Death

In a recent health study it was shown that men with insomnia are four times as likely to die as normal sleepers who get at least 6 hours of sleep a night. And among insomniacs with diabetes and high blood pressure the death rate is seven times as high. The downside is there are no approved medications for online doctors to offer a prescription online to treat insomnia. However, there are medications for high blood pressure and diabetes available as an online prescription.

The increased death risk was associated with insomniacs, who were tested in a sleep lab, and slept less than 6 hours a night. However, people who did not describe themselves as insomniacs did not develop the increased risk of death and neither did insomniacs who got more than 6 hours of sleep a night.

Online prescription services offer help for people with insomnia who also suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes. Online doctors can prescribe medications for these symptoms, which could affect the overall health of a patient and cause medical problems associated with insomnia. One interesting thing to note about the study is that both men and women who suffer from insomnia had increased blood pressure, higher levels of diabetes as well as increased neurocognitive shortcomings than normal sleepers.

The human body usually needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night in order to recharge itself, during sleep your heart rate slows, your blood pressure lowers, the sympathetic nervous system relaxes, but when someone is not able to fall asleep it can have devastating consequences on these bodily systems. With an online prescription you can control high blood pressure and diabetes related problems, but what about falling asleep?

The study included a randomly selected 1,741 men and women who spent the night in a sleep lab where the doctors measured there how long they slept. They found that among those self-described insomniacs that not all slept less than 6 hours a night and most “normal” people who sleep less are not insomniacs. The main finding was that insomnia sufferers or people who sleep poorly have an increased risk of death.

How will this affect online doctors and more importantly, their patients?

If the levels of diabetes and high blood pressure continue to gain then there could be a large portion of the population who need online prescription medication. But the deeper problems is how sleep affects our entire body, online doctors have learned through this study that insomnia, is in fact, a serious problem.

If you suffer from insomnia, diabetes or high blood pressure consult your online doctor, they can provide you with an online prescription for high blood pressure and can direct you to a sleep clinic for further insomnia testing.

Living without sleep can be a challenge and now knowing how it can affect your body should make even the most reluctant patient pick up the phone and call their online doctor. With help from your online doctor and an online prescription service you can regain your lost nights sleep and fight diabetes and high blood pressure.
