The Coming Doctor Shortage: How a Medicare Cap Could Limit the Number of Doctors

Doctor shortages were first provoked in 1996 with Congresses capping the number of new doctors that Medicare would pay to train, something that continues even to today. 2. Just because Medicare trains doctors, it doesn't mean that there aren't other resources. Someone could step in and open up more training facilities for doctors. If there were a way to train more doctors, then it would benefit the entire medical community.

3. The demand for new doctors is always going to increase, people do not get healthier as they age and America has an aging population, salaries for doctors are typically quite high, so it entices people to become part of the medical field and provide their expertise. Still there are major shortages that are only predicted to get worse as time goes. Doctors in training should look at the number of people in high paying positions who said they wanted to earn more than their contemporaries.
