Let’s face it. The reason most people exercise is to maintain their body image and to improve their body appearance.
Exercise has also been proven to be a great way to reduce your risk for heart problems, blood pressure, and health in general, but now, studies have suggested that intense daily work outs may prevent cancer! The new study shows a link between increased oxygen consumption from intense exercise and a reduced rate of cancer in trials.
The study indicated that an increase in oxygen consumption was in fact related to a decreased rate of developed cancer and death in their trial patients. The study took into account all cancers, but the most commonly found that were prevented were lung and gastrointestinal cancers. A good cardio workout of at least 30 minutes a day in both men and women is not only great for keeping your body fit and active, but also in maintaining its health and functions. Just think of that extra time on the treadmill as a daily dose of prevention rather than a sweaty, boring task.
