Posted 04-15-2010 12:42 pm by
It’s getting warmer outside, and summer is on its way. There is no better time than now to talk about protecting yourself from the UV rays put off by the sun. Of course, it’s not just about wearing sunscreen when you’re out on the beach.

sunYou should always wear some type of sunscreen if you’re going to be outdoors for an extended period of time with significant skin exposed. Also, you should use a sunscreen that is rated higher to get maximum protection.

Without sunscreen or some other form of protection from UV rays, you could easily get sunburned, sun poisoning or even increase your risk for skin cancer (melanoma). It’s hard to think about the long term effects of sun exposure, but you must. If you ever think you have been too exposed or are worried that your sunburn is more serious, or have any type of suspicious marks or moles on your skin, you need to consult with a doctor.
