10 Reasons why you should listen to the old saying and eat an apple a day…
1) Alzheimer’s Prevention. Need I say more? No one wants to get Alzheimer’s. You’ve seen the movies and read the stories even if you haven’t experienced this terrible disease first hand with a loved one and know that complete memory loss is no fun for anyone involved, so why not take some simple steps that you should be doing daily anyway and try to prevent Alzheimer’s while you’re at it? The rats who were fed three apples a day reduced their risk of breast cancer by 39% and those who were given 6 apples a day found their risk of breast cancer reduced to almost 45%!
9) Helps your liver. Another test on Rats at Cornell showed that when consuming apple skins on a daily basis, the rats had a 57% lower chance of contracting Liver Cancer than those that did not get fed apples.
10) Diabetes is better controlled. The body’s need for insulin is dramatically lowered when apples are consumed regularly, helping your body and sugar levels sort of balance out naturally. Proper checks of sugar levels and application of insulin as needed is still recommended.
