3 Tips to Improve Your Memory

The human memory is one of our most important assets, and unfortunately one that is so easy to lose as we age. Here are three great ways to work on improving your memory and keeping your mind fresh!

memory1)Read, read, read! A recent study by the Mayo Clinic has shown that frequent reading can decrease the risk of mild memory loss by about 45%! Not only is ready great for your memory, but it keeps your mind sharp and your vocabulary fresh. Whenever you have a chance grab a book and enjoy the weather to not only relax, but to help your health!

2)Learn a new sport! Columbia University just put out results of a recent study that show the link between blood glucose levels and memory loss. According to the study, the blood glucose levels rise as people age, leading to memory loss. A great way to keep your blood sugar and glucose levels regulated this summer is by playing a sport, and better yet for your mind, learn a new sport!

3)Try some iced coffee! Recent studies show that around 3 cups of caffeinated coffee a day could lower risks of dementia by nearly 70%! So drink that coffee and to mix it up, try iced coffee or flavors that you haven’t had before.
