Can You Trust Your Online Prescription Writing Doctor and Pharmacy?

With the proliferation of the Internet as a marketing vehicle for so many products and services, it was only a matter of time until things of an elicit nature began to become rampantly available to the general public.

Prescription medication is one of those areas.  Once known as magic bullets for all kinds of illnesses and ailments that were previous ‘tolerated’ by patients or worse caused life threatening circumstances, prescription medication has truly been a life altering and extremely lucrative business.  Then, a natural next step was to open up websites that made it possible for consumers to obtain online doctor consultations and prescriptions.

But as seems to be the case with all great ideas, the business of online doctor consultations and prescriptions - and specifically the online prescription writing doctor - has a darker side that you should be aware of. Here at KoolDocs.com, our goal is to provide cutting edge technology to simplify your life and make more efficient use of your time, while still providing the benefits of the one-on-one interaction with a qualified online prescription writing doctor.  Unfortunately that is not the goal of many other online doctor consultation and prescription companies that claim to offer the same.  In order to protect you from some of these shadier organizations, we have compiled the following list to help you determine whether you can trust your online doctor consultation and prescription service.

  • First, if the offer to just too good to be true, it probably is.  If a site is offering you the same medication you are currently taking at a ridiculously lower cost, be leery.
  • Remember the FDA (Federal Drug Administration) is a United States based regulator, not a worldwide agency.  To be safe, only deal with websites that have a US-based URL (i.e. avoid websites with extensions such as www.website.de or www.website.ru). Stick with .com and verify that the company is located within the United States whenever possible.  This is the only way to assure that you will receive drugs that are manufactured, packaged, distributed, and labeled properly.
  • If the site offers a prescription drug without requiring a prescription, that is a big red flag.  If it is a prescription drug, then you must have a prescription or there is something fishy going on.
  • If you are dealing with an online prescription writing doctor, verify that he is certified to be practicing in your state.

Linda Silvers, who leads the Internet and health fraud team at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research sums it up nicely,  "There are also smaller, and still legitimate, Web sites that consumers can use with confidence," Silvers says. "Legitimate sites require valid prescriptions.  A Web site can look very sophisticated and legitimate, but actually be an illegal operation," stated Silvers. "If there is no way to contact the Web site pharmacy by phone, if prices are dramatically lower than the competition, or if no prescription from your doctor [including an online prescription writing doctor] is required, consumers should be especially wary.'

Of course you can always trust our online doctor consultation and prescription writing services, feel free to click on the ‘Request a Consult’ button above for more information.
