If you think you have a skin infection, we suggest you seek the advice and treatment of a qualified physician.

Common Skin Infections
Molluscum contagiosum – Mostly common in children, Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin infection that results in painless bumps. The bumps typically disappear after a year without treatment. However, the infection is very contagious and it is recommended infected individuals seek medical treatment to avoid spreading the infection.

Cellulitis – A common and serious bacterial skin infection, cellulites causes the skin to become red, swollen, tender, and sometimes hot to the touch. Like most skin infections, cellulites may spread quickly if not treated properly. The infection usually begins on the lower legs, but it can occur anywhere on the body.

Tinea versicolor – Also referred to as pityriasis versicolor, this skin infection is caused by a fungus that interferes with the pigmentation of the skin. The fungus causes the skin to become discolored in small patches.

Impetigo – Perhaps one of the most common skin infections, impetigo is a bacterial infection that results in itchy, contagious blisters that burst and crust over. Treatment for impetigo usually includes antibiotic medication.
