HIV/AIDS – A life-threatening condition, the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) attacks the immune system affecting the body’s ability to fight viruses, fungi, and bacteria.

Chlamydia – A bacterial infection of the genital tract, Chlamydia infects almost 3 million Americans each year based on statistics provided by the Mayo Clinic. Most individuals do not experience symptoms of the disease, but if left untreated it can lead to other health issues.

Gonorrhea – Highly contagious, gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in America. Also known as “the clap,” gonorrhea usually causes a thick discharge from the vagina or penis and a burning sensation when urinating.

Syphilis – A sexually transmitted bacterial infection, syphilis affects the skin, genitals and mucous membranes. It can also affect the heart and brain if gone untreated. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) approximately two-thirds of new syphilis cases arise in men who have sexual relations with men.

Molluscum contagiousum – A common skin infection in children, molluscum contagiousum is considered a sexually transmitted disease in adults. The infection results in small, painless bumps that appear on the genitals.
